Taxation
Julia, Grace, Caroline, Anna

Taxation happened in the colonies between 1764-1773. There were many different products that the British set taxes on, things like tea (the Tea Act in 1773), stamps (the Stamp Act in 1765), and molasses (the Sugar Act in 1764). In response to these taxes, colonists were not sure what to think. Some people protested, others didn’t. A popular phrase in these times was, “No taxation without representation.” Our play shows what four friend’s opinions are on taxes.
